内容	In this talk, we will discuss some applications of character varieties in topology and knot theory. These include: 1) the AJ conjecture which relates character varieties (more precisely, the A-polynomial) and the Jones polynomial of a knot; 2) the hyperbolic torsion conjecture which relates the twisted Alexander polynomial and the genus and fiberedness of a link; 3) the L-space conjecture which relates L-spaces and the left-orderablility of their fundamental groups; and 4) epimorphisms of knot groups.
